Welcome to Co-Op Preschool!
Our Philosophy
In our program, children are given the opportunity to develop and expand their world through play. Play nurtures all aspects of a child’s developing body and mind. Through play, children build relationships, improve self-esteem, implement negotiating skills, and develop a curiosity about the world around them. They are able to make choices and decisions that help expand their problem-solving skills and give them a sense of independence and resilience. Play enables children to experience and manage setbacks and disappointments as well as successes and accomplishments.
While our program is based in the values of First UMC— love, acceptance, justice, and hope— our program and instruction are not religious. We do include a grace before meals that focuses on gratitude. We also incorporate Christmas into our classrooms, while still creating room to learn about and honor other traditions celebrated that time of year.
