Our Preschool (3 Year Old) Classes

 Preschool Classes for Three-Year-Olds

(Must be 3 years old by October 1st)

The main focus of the 3-year-old preschool class is on the social and emotional development of each child.  We work on acquiring skills to interact with friends in a safe, appropriate and positive way. We approach separation anxiety with kindness and patience, realizing that starting in a new environment can be stressful for both parent and child.  We strive to build children’s confidence and help them become more independent, creative problem solvers.

A typical day for a preschooler includes:

  • Free Play - Since children discover their world through play, the first hour of the day is open center time. Children are free to explore the room and engage in whatever activity they choose. Centers may include block play, dramatic play, sensory play, creative arts and crafts, manipulatives, books, puzzles and other activities centered around the theme of the week.

  • Circle time - This is where we sing, laugh, talk, listen and learn.

  • Snack time – Socializing and communicating with friends is key to a child’s social emotional development.

  • Playground time – Lots of gross motor play.

  • Ending Circle – Literacy, music or large group activities.
