A Typical Day at Co-op Preschool

Most of a child’s day at Co-op Preschool is spent engaged in play, whether it be in the block area, at the sensory table, in housekeeping, at the writing or science center, creating arts and crafts or reading books.  Children are able to explore the room and choose whatever activity they are interested in.  This gives them the opportunity to make their own decisions and work at their own pace.  Our teachers create an environment that supports, challenges, and expands play. Children are encouraged to work together through negotiation and cooperation, teaching the value of teamwork, building social skills and creating a sense of community.

Each class comes together to:

  • Enjoy free play

  • Participate in circle time with teacher led singing, dancing, games, and stories

  • Share snacks and conversation

  • Run, jump, tag, climb, and slide during outside time

  • Review and wrap up the day
